comparison

feeling compelled to encourage and to warn...

don't compare yourself, accomplishments, kids, or anything else to others. only you can be you, so please let us all benefit from and enjoy you. we don't want the "you" who tries to be like anyone but who God created you to be.

of course, i am only posting this because i recently realized that i'm not alone regarding this horrible comparison thing. i only get discouraged, overwhelmed, unhappy, and discontent when i c0mpare myself to others. therefore, i have come to the conclusion that...

the temptation to compare is a strategic scheme of the enemy's that seems to work on too many of us. after all, when we are busy striving instead of resting in Him, and consumed with doing instead of being, we don't have time to truly be intimate with the One who gives us peace, significance, approval, joy or life itself.

let's not fall for this distraction of comparison. let's see it for what it is and expose the ugliness of it all (though, let's not be condemned by comparing ourselves with those who do not struggle with this comparison thing).
